Our journey the last few months has been something that has been close to my heart for some time.  It’s been quite amazing to see something you’ve talked about, prayed about, and took a leap of faith for in front of you on a computer screen.  The word GRATITUDE keeps coming back to my heart as of late.  We are GRATEFUL for the outpouring of love we have experienced from our family, friends and even strangers.  We have been open for two months and with a servant’s heart, we are humbled to be a part, in some small way, of making a change in the world.

We have learned so much about the way people all over the world are being treated, how unjustly their basic human rights are violated for the world of fast fashion.  Women forced to work long hours, in dangerous conditions for pennies just so that we can enjoy bargain prices at the stores we thought we loved.  I have bought clothes, bags, and jewelry from those fast fashion stores only to have that necklace that I loved so much lose its color or have beads fall out after a few wears.  I’ve had clothes fall apart, bags fray and wear out within a few months.  After researching how these goods were being made, the stories of the workers behind them, I was mortified. There has to be a better way.

It turns out, there are many companies around the world who are taking on these issues and much more every day.  People on the front lines standing up for what’s right and are changing the way we shop one bag at a time.  Companies that are not just giving handouts, but helping communities get out of poverty by investing in its women.  Sending girls to school, providing jobs to people who desperately want them and treating them with dignity.  I hadn’t heard (as well as many of my friends) of these companies or this other world.  We blindly go shopping and don’t give a thought as to where the items came from.

This has brought us to where we are today.  We are committed to finding companies that are making change in the world, whether it be social change, or ecological change, here in the United States or around the world, we want to bring them to you.  We want you to think about the way you shop, maybe start with one change and see what happens. When you see the name or the face of the person who personally made your bag, you see how your purchase changed the life of someone else.

We are GRATEFUL, to be a part of this journey with you.
